1. ตรวจสอบระดับท่อ น้ำเข้า-น้ำออก ของถังว่าอยู่ระดับใด2. ขุดหลุมขนาดกว้างกว่าถังบำบัดน้ำเสีย 50 ซม. ลึกจากก้นถังถึงท่อน้ำเข้าให้ตรงกับท่อ PVC ที่เตรียมไว้
3. เท คสล. หนา 10 ซม. หรือใช้แผ่นพื้น คสล. สำเร็จรูปวางเรียงกัน (เสาเข็มเป็นดุลยพินิจของวิศวกรควบคุม)
4. วางถังบำบัดน้ำเสียลงก้นหลุม เติมน้ำสลับกับกลบด้วยดินหรือทรายหยาบอัดให้แน่นรอบถังถึงระดับท่อน้ำเข้า-ออก
5. ใส่ข้อต่ออ่อนสวมต่อเข้าทางน้ำเข้ากับท่อ PVC ที่เตรียมไว้ (ท่อจากโถส้วม) และใช้ข้อต่ออ่อนสวมต่อเข้าทางน้ำออกกับท่อ PVC ลงสู่ท่อระบายน้ำสาธารณะ
6. ใช้ทรายเทปิดท่อถึงระดับที่ต้องการ กรณีฝาถังต่ำกว่าให้ใช้อิฐต่อแล้วเทปูนทับโดยรอบปากถัง
7. ระดับท้องท่อที่ระบายออกจากถัง ควรสูงกว่าระดับน้ำสูงสุดในท่อหรือรางระบายน้ำ อย่างน้อย 15 ซม. หรือสูงกว่าระดับน้ำท่วมถึง
ข้อควรระวังในการใช้งาน
1. ไม่ควรทิ้งเศษสิ่งแปลกปลอมต่างๆที่ย่อยสลายไม่ได้ เช่น ถุงพลาสติก ผ้าอนามัย เป็นต้น เพราะจะทำให้ท่ออุดตัน แถมถังยังเต็มเร็วขึ้น2. ควรทำการสูบกำจัดตะกอนในส่วนเกรอะของถัง อย่างน้อยปีละ 1 ครั้ง
3. ควรตรวจสอบท่อระบายอากาศว่ายังใช้การได้ดีอยู่หรือไม่
4. ควรตรวจทางเข้า-ออก ของน้ำเสียหรือทางไหลของน้ำ เป็นปะจำเพื่อป้องกันการชำรุดเสีย
